FAQ

What is the lug width of my watch?

There are 2 ways to find the case size of your Omega Speedmaster watch:

  1. Use a digital caliper or ruler to measure the lug width (the distance between the inside of the lugs where the strap fits):

18 mm lug width
– Speedmaster "Reduced" (39mm case)
– Speedmaster 38 (38mm case)

19 mm lug width
– Speedmaster "First Omega in Space" (FOIS) & Heritage models (39.7mm case)
– Speedmaster Racing (older 40mm case)

20 mm lug width

– Speedmaster Professional "Moonwatch" (42mm case)
– Speedmaster '57 Co-Axial (40.5mm case)
– Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch (42mm case)

21 mm lug width
– Speedmaster "Dark Side of the Moon" / Ceramic (44.25mm case)
– Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer (44.25mm case)

  1. Check the model number:

Omega utilizes a 14-digit reference number for modern watches (and an older 8-digit system for vintage models). This number is laser-engraved on the underside of one of the watch lugs. Your red Omega warranty card, Pictograms card, or purchase receipt will also list the model reference, which indicates your specific Speedmaster model and case size.

(Note: The 6th and 7th digits of a modern Omega reference number directly indicate the case size, e.g., xxx.xx.42.xx.xx.xxx is a 42mm case).

Examples of model references:

Speedmaster Professional "Moonwatch":
42mm: 310.30.42.50.01.001, 310.32.42.50.01.002 (Modern), 311.30.42.30.01.005 (Previous Gen)

Speedmaster Heritage & FOIS:
39.7mm: 311.32.40.30.01.001, 311.32.40.30.02.001

Speedmaster 38 & Reduced:
38mm (Modern): 324.30.38.50.01.001
39mm (Reduced): 3510.50.00 (older 8-digit reference format)

Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon / Racing:
44.25mm: 311.92.44.51.01.003, 329.30.44.51.01.001

What is the width of my original buckle?

To measure the buckle width, use the same method as measuring the lug width. Simply measure the distance between the two ends of the buckle where it attaches to the strap. This ensures the buckle width matches the strap for a secure and proper fit. Use a ruler or caliper for precise measurement, typically in millimeters.
